We're here at Cedar Point. Today's ride we'll be reviewing for you is Mantis. You straddle the seat to a comfortable setting, pull down the OTSR, and then we're off! We climb up the lifthill. Up and up we go! While climbing the lifthill, you get a nice view of Cedar Point. Then we finally reach the top. First you go through the pre drop and then turnaround. And then comes the first drop. It starts to go pretty fast, but then you hear a large hiss. You then realized that you were hit with trim brakes. The ride has just begun and already, we are trimmed. Then, after bottoming out on the first drop. We soar into a loop. Once we reach the point of upsidedown, we then soar back down to the ground and tilt a little for the dive loop. The dive loop is fun and all, but once we reach the bottom, we notice something. It almost seems like someone is stabbing the back of your legs with a knife. But before we notice anymore of it, we soar up toards the station and do some sort of curve in the sky. Many people claim that the ride has some nasty headbanging in this part. Well that is bullsh*t. It's smooth as glass. Though you're legs are still in pain though. After that, we head straight for the Incline Loop. This part of the ride is just really fun for some reason. Then you go through some twisty track before twisting up into the mid course brakes. The train doesn't slow down that much from it. (Though that's probably only because of that trim on the first drop.) After the midcourse brakes, we slide into a corkscrew. After going through the final inversion, we then go up into a turnaround before going through more twisty track. Then the track gets kinda twisty from there. There are some banked curves, a hop over some track, and a turn into the brake run. I won't lie. My memory of Mantis isn't the best since I squeezed it into my Cedar Point trip at the very last minute and ended up riding it at like 9:45 PM. Bugt I do have enugh of a memory to pull off the review I did. I'd recommend riding Mantis if you're at Cedar Point, especially if you've never done a stand up before. But if you do end up skipping it, then that's fine to. I mean, it's hard to get on a ride like Mantis when there are so many better coasters around and such big crowds, and MAVERICK!!!!
