Vortex Review
We're here at Kings Island. Today's ride we'll be reviewing for you is Vortex. We get in the trains, pull down the restraints, and away we go. After climbing up the huge lifthill, we get a lovely view of Kings Island. But now it's time for the real action. We roll around a turn and head into the first drop. The first drop is fun and provides us with some good speed. However, I have also heard from many people that you actually get some sweet ejector air in the back of the train on this first drop. I can't confirm or deny this since I sat up front. All I can do is regret sitting up front. =( Anyways, back to Vortex. We then rise up another hill and actually get some good airtime up in the front here. Yay!!! =) This leads us into some big turnaround. When I was riding, I just saw a bunch of trees during this part. Though now I think you get a good view of Diamondback. And good news. So far, no head banging. But so far, I don't see any loops on this Arrow Mega Looper. Well that'll change soon. We then head down the drop and go straight into two vertical loops. During both of these vertical loops, you get some pretty good positive Gs. And let's just face it. Back to back Vertical Loops are cool (Most of the time). We then rise up another hill before heading through a quick turn. This gives us a big jolt that gives us a little headbanging before we reach the mid course brakes. And they're pretty harsh. We then head down a tiny drop that's like 10 feet tall, so we don't gain that much speed. After that, we roll around a turn and that turns into some corkscrews. Now I know a lot of people don't like slow corkscrews, but I love them. Slow Corkscrews are awesome, and I'm glad that they have them on this and Viper. In fact, I think these corkscrews are even slower than the ones on Viper. Anyways, back to the ride. We just roll through another turn before we come to the batwing. And it too is slow. In fact, it's almost like riding Viper in Reverse. Now we just need a frozen caveman to take on the ride and we'll be set. =) Suprisingly enough, we have enough speed to actually make through an upward helix. But it's slow. This then leads us to the final brake run. While not an amazing ride, Vortex is a fun ride and when it comes to Arrow Loopers, it's an underrated one. Check it out if you're at Kings Island. It's a fun ride with a short line.
