Curse of the Werewolf Review

We're here at Epic Universe, within the Universal Orlando Resort, where we'll be reviewing Curse of the Werewolf. The park's spinning coaster. Now, this is undeniably one of the most unique spinning coasters ever made. With a layout that honestly doesn't seem to make much sense. So on the one hand, this is pretty cool since this ride does stuff spinning coasters usually don't. On the other hand.....yeah. This is far from the best spinning coaster. With that said, we get in the seats, pull down the lap barm and we're off! We roll around a turn, and....BAM!!! We launch. It's not a super strong and powerful launch, but you know what? You do spin during the launch, which is a trippy feeling. So that's OK (though I honestly salivate at the thought of doing Dododonpa's launch while spinning). We then head up a small hill. Again, not a ton of forces, but we are still spinning. We then head into a turnaround. And hey. The spinning does pick up here. It's still far from the best spinner ever, but it's still really cool. Go through some barn. TAKE THE....WHOA!!! There's another ;aunch in here. Nice little kick of speed. We then head into a huge turnaround hill. Wait. We clearly don't have enough speed to clear this thing. Oh wait. It's a swing launch. We fall back down, nw traveling backwards (or forewards. Direction doesn't really matter on a spinning coaster). That launch functions as a trim backwards, and we back through the first turnaround hill, also not making that going backwards. We go back down, launch again, and this time, make it through the large turnaround hill. We go through a tight low to the ground turn here. We head up a small hill, around a turn, go through another dip, and....into the brake run. Oh yeah. On the brakes, we see a sign that reads "BEWARE OF THE MOON". Good thing I rode it during the day instead of the night, then. Yeah. On the one hand, this is a VERY weird layout for a spinning coaster, featuring multiple launches, and turning into a shuttle coaster halfway through the ride. So it's unique. Unfortunately, unique and intersring doesn't necesarilly translate into the best. Especially since, at least when I rode it, it spun pretty poorly. And the reviews I heard from others make me believe that my ride was not an anomily. But the other hand, it feels like all the unique aspects was Universal's answer to how to fit a spinning coaster into a really tight space. Make it launch to remove lifthill space, give it a big swing launch section to save space (also, swing launches are the hot new sh*t right now). And.....it almost feels like something you'd make in RCT when you want to add a new coaster to your park, but don't have space, so you get creative to shoehorn in something. Not my favorite, but I still had fun on it.
