O.C. Fair 2025 All right. So it's been a couple years since our last fair visit. We had to forgoe the fair in both 2023 & 2024 since......both were HORRIBLE YEARS with HORRENDOUS FINANCES. So when I had a brief moment of financial stability in 2025, I took that oppertunity to have fun. Not only in traveling, but also getting out to the fair. And.....we decided to try something different and check out the O.C. Fair. Might as well since......we're about as close to the O.C Fair as we are to the L.A County Fair (We may live in L.A. County, but we live right on the border of Orange County. And also, L.A. County is f*cking big). And yeah. This was a REALLY GOOD FAIR!!! Honestly, this was better than the L.A. County Fair, though slightly worse than the Del Mar (San Diego) Fair. But regardless, all 3 are A-Tier Fairs that are a ton of fun to visit. Hey Jason! ZZ-Top is playing tonight! Wanna sneak into the show tonight!? ;) So some time-share people tried selling us a time-share, asking if we like to travel. We sure do. Yes, we are traveling this year. Where to? Florida. In fact, we're actually flying out tomorrow. "I predict that someone is going to hit your car today" OH F*CK!! THE PSYCHIC WAS RIGHT!!! I THOUGHT THEY WERE BULLSH*T, BUT SOMEONE REALLY DID HIT MY CAR!!! =P Yeah. It wouldn't be a fair visit without some sliding fun. OK. That's enough. No more small basic rides. Time for the good stuff. TIME FOR TANGO!!! =D Time for some rollercoaster.....*gasp* IS THAT A NEW CREDIT!!? Yep. This is Raptor. A fair coaster and.....I think this is a Windstorm (possibly this one). And.....this was better than I was expecting (I did do Hurricane @ SCBB as a little kid. But that was pre-Incrediblecoasters and all I remember was being sideways. I rode it at 7. I wasn't exactly a stellar coaster critic then). Decent speed for a fair coaster, and some nice laterals. Only downside is....these seats were TIGHT!!! OK. Next coaster is Galaxy. Yeah. This one, I have the credit. Also, while not bad, it was running slower here than it was at previous fairs. The Haunted Mansion from the California Fair is so amazing that they just had to bring it to the O.C. Fair. And with this being a top-notch fair, that means that all our favorites are here, including Zipper, which of course, was running GREAT!!! And since this is a fair update, we have to have some fun in the fun houses. Can Jason do a full handstand in the barrel this time? Once again, No. Back to the coasters. And.....ooh! Another new credit. =) So this is the fairs spinning coaster. It's imported straight from the European Fair Circuit, and......this was a really good one. This one actually has a semi-unique layout. Sure, it's primarily the standard spinning mouse layout. But that banked curve is a nice touch that I really think improves the ride. Another thing that makes this one stand out being that it spins the entire way, not just in the 2nd half. And this one really spins a lot. So yeah. Big thumbs up for Heidi. Hey look! They have Techno Power here. I know it's not a top tier fair ride, but it still is a ton of fun and better than I remember. Moving on and......oh boy! The booster here is even bigger than Speed! Unfortunately, this was another example of bigger doesn't always mean better. As this one felt....slower. Not nearly as fast and snappy as Speed. Though luckily, they have that here as well (Yes, it's weird that in this case, the smaller one is the more intense version). And since its a modern classic, Rockit is also present at the O.C. Fair. Not my favorite, but still a fun flat ride. The trend of funhouses continues with our visit to the O.C. Fair. Pretty sure I've seen that exact slide in an identical funhouse recently. But where? ;) HOLY SH*T!! THEY HAVE A WALTZER HERE!!! So this is something that for the most part, is only found in Europe. It's sort of like a tilt a whirl. Except MUCH FASTER!!! And HOLY CRAP!!! This REALLY WAS STRONG!!! Combine the intense spinning with the trippy lights and the loud pumping music, and.....I just had a BLAST on this ride. Unexpected sleeper hit of the O.C. Fair! =D Wee! More slide fun! Hey Jason! Wanna go back to working here!? >=) I know its just showing off a wall of Disney Movies on VHS, but something about that is comforting. Probably the fact that I remember my family having half of those movies in those exact VHS covers, plus memories of Blockbuster (doesn't matter since I can now watch any of those movies at a moments notice thanks to having Disney+). Gargoyles aside, Disney's Hunchback is actually pretty good. What's up Doc? You know, Disney isn't the only one allowed to parade around nostalgia here. Jason continues to demonstrate why Disco should not be brought back and stay dead. =P I know my opponent may be literal cardboard, but even he would be able to kick my ass. So this vendor was offering some wine samples. And because Jason LOVES free samples, we tried some. Unfortunately, it was less free samples and more....just wine tasting. Cause we were left with a much higher bill than expected. It was good wine and all, but.....I was not happy about that misunderstanding. For this years Fair Food, we're gonna try out Bacon Pickles. These were......salty. Since.....bacon is salty, as are pickles. Put the two together, and.....yeah. VERY salty. But in a good way. Even if.....I think I've had enough sodium for the week (horrible timing to be heading on a trip where diet becomes non-existant) Much like at the L.A. County Fair, the O.C. Fair also has the wristbands include a free game. Which....hey. Fun, even if we always lose. Just relaxing on the skyride at the O.C. Fair. I see you, two kiddy coasters hiding in the background on this chairswings photo (I have both credits, so we're not wasting any time there). Hmm. What's another fair thing we haven't done? Oh yeah. Animals! Because some people felt like egg prices were too high and decided to do something about it besides destroy the country. ;) Have you seen my mother? Must resist urge to pet goats. Oh yeah. Had to stop on yet another fair classic. Saving the best fun house for last. Don't get disoriented and trip in here! ;) WEE!!! Sliding on down! Guys, was it really smart of us to save the log flume for later in the day when its cooled down a lot? No, but oh well. Any other major rides here that are missing? Eh. Just the Starflyer. But hey. At least this one is actually a proper starflyer and not just tiny elevated chairswings. Can Kevin make a single shot? No. No he can't. He does NOT win the giant stuffed Squirtle! Sorry, Jason. Looks like you were captured by the ghouls in the Creep Show. Anyways, that was the O.C. Fair. And.....I had a blast here. It was a fantastic fair with nearly all of my fairtime favorites (only one missing today was Mega Drop), some new credits (that were pretty good by carnival coaster standards), and just had a great time with friends. Super glad I came here today. Home
