Raptor Review

We're here at an American Fair, specifically the O.C Fair. Today's coaster we'll be reviewing is Raptor. This is one of those Windstorm coasters. They're far from the best coaster, but they are a fun little ride and a perfect fit for a carnival. We get in the incredibly tight cars, pull down the lap bars, and we're off! We begin climbing the lifthill. Hope you enjoy the view of the parking lot, and the other fun rides at the O.C Fair. We quickly reach the top, and head around a slight turn, leading straight into a curved drop. This doesn't go down to the ground. But it provides us with some nice speed and some laterals, too. We head up into a bunny hop. Not much airtime here. But that's OK. This isn't exactly an airtime kind of ride. We then head up into a banked turnaround. There's a little bit more laterals here. And we head out of it dropping down to the ground. Always good to be gaining more speed. We rise up a really non-steep hill, before going through another banked helix back up into a midcourse brakes. And here we come to the highlight of the Windstorm ride. The spiral drop. Yeah. These Windstorm coasters have a spiral drop that have some REALLY STRONG laterals and really give us some decent speed. And these things are FUN!!! OK. You REALLY notice just how tight and small these seats are since.....you're packed in like sardines on these types of rides. But regardless, this is still a really fun ride. And of course, we go through an equally tight curve back up. Highlight of the ride unquestionably. We then cruise through some straight track before going into a downward helix. While not nearly as crazy as the spiral drop. It does give us some of that speed back as we helix down to the ground. We go through a slight curve up, before dipping back down to the ground. We go through a raised curve before helixing down down to the ground. We gain some more speed, and turn straight into the brake run. Yeah. These Windstorms are lateral heavy rides. And they pack more of a punch than you expect. Are they the best ride? Obviously not. But they still are a really fun little portable coaster that packs a punch and is great for small parks or in this case, a high quality fair. I definetly would recommend checking this one out if you've got the tickets for it, or a wristband.
