Six Flags Magic Mountain Review

I took my first visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 1999 and was EXTREMELY satisfied with it. I was so satisfied that after getting 2000 season passes, going to SFMM became a hobby. In fact, Six Flags Magic Mountain and RCT1 sparked my Rollercoaster Enthusiasm. Hell, I'm currently working at Six Flags Magic Mountain, which means I'm not only there all the freaking time, but am really familiar with the park both from a guests point of view, and from an employee's point of view. I always loved Six Flags Magic Mountain and they just seem to be constantly improving. Recently, they've had some great ideas and they just seem to be getting better and better. Though they have done some things that I am not happy about, but as a whole, the park is getting a lot better. Operations have been quicker and everything about Six Flags Magic Mountain has just been plain awsome. And of course, the fact that this place is my third home, source for like 30% of all my childhood memories, and my employers, I have quite a big connection to the park. Thank you for giving me this awsome service these past 13 years of thrills.

Flat Rides

Here are the reviews of all the Flat Rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Well, I said I was impressed a lot of the things the park has been doing. But Flat Rides are not one of those things. Six Flags Magic Mountain never had a good flat ride collection. But in Early 2008, Six Flags removed a huge chunk of the flat rides they had including the former crown jewel of SFMM flat rides, Freefall. I still miss that ride. Now onto the current flat rides. The First Flat Ride up is Bucaneer. This is just your ordinary Pirate Ship. But Andrew better beware. For who know's how much Longer Bucaneer has left to live. Up next is Swashbuckler. I've always thought it was weird that Six Flags Magic Mtn had the Carnival Style Chairswings while all the other parks had Modern Chairswings. Up next is Wonder Womans Lasso. Just a typical Roundup. And next up is The Flash. This ride literaly walked straight out of a carnival. Though, I must admit, I really do like the makeover that The Flash and Wonder Womans Lasso got during the transition to D.C Universe. And then there's the Scrambler. While it's just a Scrambler, it's still a fun ride. And finally, the best flat ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain is Elmers Weather Balloons. While it may be in Bugs Bunny World and it may be a kiddie ride, this son of a bitch spins you like you've never been spun before. (Unless you rode in the teacup car of the Carousel of Sheer Bloody Death at the Valencia Mall.) Unfortunetly, Now they don't tilt the cars anymore. So that's a bummer. But on the Balloons, it's not about the tilt, it's about the spin. And since this thing can spin really freaking fast, that's all that matters. So overall, Six Flags is lacking in the Flat Ride Department Heavily. But it's not that big a deal.

Here are the INSANE Balloons!!

Water Rides

Here are the reviews of all the Water Rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Six Flags Magic Mountain has an OK water ride selection. They have a log flume called Jet Stream. Jet Stream is an OK log flume. Its not that long and only one has one decent sized drop. There's Tidal Wave. That's just a Shoot the Chutes. It doesn't get you very wet. But you can soak yourself on Tidal Wave's Bridge. That's Free and a good way to cool down. (Or just be a plain retard.) There's Roaring Rapids. This River Rapids ride may not have a good layout since it just goes in a circle, but boy does it get you WET!!! Water will come up and SOAK YOU FROM THE INSIDEOUT!!!!!!! So if you want to get wet, Go on Roaring Rapids. And recently, they just got rid of their best water ride, Log Jammer. It was an ok flume with 2 fun drops and a nice view of Goldrusher. But the real fun was at the water cannons. Soaking people on Log Jammer was so awesome, as you can see here and here. Hopefully they'll move the cannons to Jet Stream, but until then, I'll just have to soak people at other parks. But be warned, on a hot summer day, the lines for these water rides can grow very long!!!!!!!

Yeah. You could wait in line for the water rides, or you could just cool by doing this.

Dining

Here are the reviews of all the Resteraunts at Six Flags Magic Mountain. At Six Flags Magic Mountain, there are never certain resteraunts I go to each time I visit. I just eat wherever. Hell, For a while, we would just walk down to the Wendys or local gas station. But we don't even do that anymore. Nowadays, we just drive and eat somewhere in Valencia. I suppose the best food in the park would be J.B's BBQ. Now I only ate here twice. Once as an employee and once as a guest. As an employee, they were grilling the Tritip Sandwhiches they served at an employee picnic, and they were really freaking good. However, as a guest, it wasn't that good. The bun was pretty stale and the meat didn't seem that fresh. Truely a bummer since this replaced a much better BBQ called Longhorns, which served much higher quality BBQ. Unfortunetly, that place had to close since the resteraunt went out of buisness. =( However, when it comes to drinks, you're in luck. If you're thirsty at SFMM, screw any other regular soda stand. Go to Studio 6F. For they've got the Freestyle Coke Machine. For those who don't know, the Freestyle Coke Machine has 106 different flavors of Coke Products, most of them not available anywhere else. And those soda flavors kick some serious ass. Highly recommended you buy your drink there. Though I must admit, I don't even get freestyle drinks that often anymore now since I found a Rocket Fizz in Valencia, though I still do get them. And I'd TOTALLY recommend them to anyone who can't make it to the Rocket Fizz. Then there's the Mooseburger Lodge. On a hot summer day, it feels like Heaven when you walk into Mooseburger Lodge due to it's heavy air conditioning. Once they seat you, you might be near the singing moose. The food here is your typical amusement park crap. Greasy Burger, Way Too Much Fries, Ice Cold Coke. Although they do have a hidden drink on the Menu called Antler Ale. But it's been a while since I've had it. I'll give you a review of it once I redrink it. While Six Flags Magic Mountain does have typical amusement park crap and high prices for that crap, If you're lucky, they may give you decent food.

Here is the Freestyle Coke Machine in all it's pride and glory.

Here is the Mooseburger Lodge.

Good as an employee. Mediocre as a guest.

Theming and Other Attractions

Here are the reviews of all the other stuff at Six Flags Magic Mountain. There's not really any theming at all at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I will say that the Landscaping at Six Flags Magic Mountain is beautiful though. It's surrounded by mountains and it just looks really nice. Bugs Bunny World is a decent childrens area with a decent kiddy coaster, Canyon Blaster. (See Review for more details.) They also have the Narly Balloons!!! But perhaps the most unique thing about Six Flags Magic Mountain is the Skytower Museum. In the Sky Tower Museum, There are Old Commercials playing on TVs, There are old signs from Old Rides hanging on the walls, models of coasters and LOTS MORE!!!!!

And here is a microscopic peice of the Sky Tower Museum.

In Conclusion

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a great park to visit. There are lots of thrills there like X2, Tatsu, Green Lantern, Riddlers, Goliath, And MUCH MORE!!! In addition to that, there are plenty of Family Rides Like Thomas Town and Bugs Bunny World. You can ride Roaring Rapids on a burning day, spin til you're high on the Balloons, Or go into the Sky Tower Museum and appreciate SFMM's long history.

Tips

*Get to the park early, and then RUN LIKE HELL TO X2!!!!!!! Then go to Tatsu and conquer the back of the park from there.

*If you want to avoid crowds all together, Go during a Sunday during the Offseason. (Just DON'T go on a Saturday!)

*Wear pants or shorts with zippered pockets to keep your stuff safe.

*Be Prepared to wait awhile for X2 if you fail to follow my advice earlier.

*Have Fun!!!
